Cocoa Medjool Datesicles

Just a few more days until summer is here! And that means longer days, plenty of sunshine, and a freezer full of popsicles!

While I love the classic fudgesicles I grew up with, they are typically laden with refined sugar, and other not so good for you ingredients. So, instead of buying them, why not make your own? Both your wallet and palate will be happy!

These pops are incredibly easy to make, and all it really takes is blending Natural Delights Medjool dates that are packed with potassium and give a rich, creamy texture to the frozen treat with a few other nutrient rich ingredients. The hard part is waiting for them to freeze, but if you just can’t wait, this mixture would also make a great smoothie.

Cocoa Datesicles

(makes 6 pops)

  • 1/2 cup pitted Natural Delights Medjool dates
  • 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
  • 7-oz (half a can) full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • pinch of sea salt

Combine all items in a blender (I used a Magic Bullet). Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.
