68116_10152306350040411_621737643_n2012 has been a challenging year. There were definitely lots of amazing moments, but between my dad and my best friend both battling cancer and my sister’s declining health to the recent tragedies in the state I’ve called home for over a year, I’m looking forward to a brighter new year in 2013.

The good news is, we seemed to have escaped the Mayan apocalypse (this time..) and that makes us all survivors – with the strength to persevere through tough times. I imagine most survivors would tell you that after a (sometimes lengthy) grieving period, the only thing left to do is dust off the ashes and move on.

And, move on I shall. In 2013, I resolve to live in the moment more often, spend more time with positive friends and family, and continue to be thankful for all that I have. I resolve to take better care of myself by exercising more, take better care of my career by working harder and smarter and take better care of others’ feelings by learning to be more punctual, improving my listening skills and by volunteering more often.

I wish everyone a happy, healthy and successful 2013.  Happy New Year!

  1. So sorry to hear about the health tragedies in your close family and friends — awful. Hope since the new year, things have looked up and are brighter!

Your resolutions sounded strangely similar to mine, but yours are better because you mentioned “taking care of others’ feelings.” Never too late to add to the list I suppose!

    1. Thanks Addison. Thankfully, most of the people I mentioned are doing a lot better in recent months.

Good luck on the resolutions – and, today is the start of the lunar new year so it’s a perfect time to reevaluate your goals for 2013!
