Gina Zammit is an award-winning writer, editor, and video journalist with more than a decade of experience.
Her writing can be seen in a wide variety of publications and websites including Refinery29, Virtuoso, Yahoo Life, MSN, Tasting Table, The Takeout, The Daily Meal, AAA Traveler Magazine, Gulfshore Life, AAA Home & Away, Hamlet Hub, World Nomads, The Huffington Post, The Westport Journal, 068 Magazine, Rails to Trails, Quartz, Trivago, Pizza Today, Roads & Kingdoms, Darling Magazine, Shape Magazine, Time Out, and more.
She is currently participating in Atlas Obscura’s Adventures Program and produces travel and food videos for its social channels as well as her own. She has also hosted a travel series for the Seoul Metropolitan Government and a local food and wine show in New York City, and served as a dirndl ambassador for the Austria Tourism Board.
Ms. Zammit has interviewed chefs and public figures including Tyra Banks, Candace Bushnell, and Chef Brian Lewis. One of her pieces was awarded gold in the 2017 Society of American Travel Writers Foundation Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Competition and was featured on The New York Times' "Great Stories Around the Web" list. She is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, a three-time Connecticut Press Club Award recipient, and an alumna of the Yale Writers Workshop, Colgate Writers Conference, and the Walt Disney World College Program and Radio Disney.
Her love of coastal culture comes from never living far saltwater, as well as her time as a volunteer at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk and a research assistant in Sacred Heart University’s horseshoe crab tagging program. She splits her time between New York City and the Connecticut coastline, but can usually be found exploring a new destination across the globe.
